Jack in the Snowy Game (a1a2)

Jack was a 14-year-old boy. He was smart, fast, and brave. He liked to play games. His favorite game was called The Long Dark. In this game, the player must survive in the snow. There are no people, only animals, snow, and wind.

One day, Jack was playing the game on his computer. He was having fun. But then something strange happened. when he closed his eyes because they were tired, he felt the cold. It was strange to feel it in a warm room... He opened his eyes and... He was not in his room anymore. He was outside, in the snow. It was cold. The wind was loud. The trees were white. Jack looked around. He was inside the game!

Jack knew what to do. He had played this game many times. He had to stay warm and find food. First, he picked up sticks and stones. He needed them to make a fire.

Jack walked and found a small cave. It was a good place to sleep. He put the sticks on the ground. Then he tried to make a fire. It was hard, but after some time, the fire started. Jack sat next to it. It was warm. He smiled. The fire was very important. Without it, he would be too cold.

At night, Jack stayed in the cave. Outside, it was very cold. But he was safe and warm.

The next morning, Jack made a plan. He wanted to go to a place called Forlorn Muskeg. There, he could find a forge to make arrowheads. He needed them to hunt animals.

Jack walked for many hours. The snow was deep. Sometimes, he could not see well because of the fog. But Jack did not stop. He looked at rocks and trees to remember the way.

Suddenly, Jack heard wolves. He was scared. He saw three wolves in the snow. He did not want to fight them. He picked up stones and threw them. Then he held a big stick with fire. The wolves saw the fire and ran away. Jack was happy he was safe.

Later, Jack found birch trees. He knew their bark was useful. He took the bark and made tea. He put the bark in hot water. The tea tasted bad, but it helped him feel strong.

After some time, Jack found the forge. It was an old place. No people were there. He looked around and found some metal. He worked for many hours and made arrowheads. They were small but strong. Now Jack could hunt animals and protect himself.

Next, Jack wanted to make a bow. He found a good tree — a maple tree. He cut a long piece of wood. For the string, he used rabbit gut. It was not easy, but in the end, he made a bow. Now Jack had a bow and arrows. He felt strong and ready.

Jack sat down and looked at the snow. He had done many things. He had made fire, tea, tools, and weapons. He had stayed warm and safe. He had learned how to live in the snow.

Jack did not want to go back. He liked this world. It was hard, but also beautiful. There were trees, animals, and snow. And he was free. He had learned to survive. He had become strong.

Now, with his bow in his hand, Jack was ready for the next day. He did not know what would happen. Maybe there would be more wolves. Maybe another storm. But Jack was not afraid.

He stood up, looked at the sky, and smiled.
